Blog 3: The Wind That Shakes The Barley Review
Well, Hi.
I'm so sorry because I'm writing this too late but I'm here.
Today I'm going to talk about the movie "The Wind That Shakes The Barley" by Ken Loach.
I really liked the movie, at most part of cases I always liked movies about history, even more when is about a side not well-known. I mean, we have a lot of movies about world wars and how imperial countries fight against others, but not how others countries have to fight against the imperial countries for their independence.
I'm not really sure but I think that the Damien and Teddy could be my favorites characters because they show clearly the conflict in the movie till the end. In anyways I think that in themes about war conflicts a lot of character are very important.
There are two things that I really liked about the movie, one is the landscape because is so pretty even in darkest moment, and the second is the way that movie show us the conflict of Irish either the war of independence or the civil war.
In a first time the length of the movie wasn't a problem to me because I really enjoyed to see it (was my first time) but now I think that if I have to choose see the movie again in a free time, the length could be an important aspect to decide between see it or not.
I think that my favorite scene is when the british soldier free the IRA memebers because this scene gave me the feeling of hope and grateful. But at the same time I think that the scene when Teddy kills Damien is in somewhere my favorite too, because this scene give me the reminder of how hard is the real life sometimes.
Have a nice day!
